Google Shopping is part of Google Adwords and allows users to search for products on online shopping websites and compare prices between different vendors. The system works via an XML feed from your ecommerce website that links to Google Merchant centre. This serves to replay products, prices, stock, potential errors etc to Google and from here the information is linked to Google Adwords which handles the advert, billing and targeting preferences for those adverts. It might sound complicated but it really isn’t and can prove very effective for selling products that are ‘visually led’ – such as homeware, beauty products and clothing.
